The Year of faith is a Call for Conversion and Renewal

The Year of Faith 1Udaipur 21 August 2013, CRI Udaipur Unit organized a day of Prayer and reflection on the theme “The year of faith”  Rev. Fr Norbert Herman SVD President, CRI Udaipur (Conference of Religious of India) welcomed, the Most Rev. Bishop Dev Prasad Ganawa SVD and  all the religious gathered.

The Year of Faith 2Rev. Fr. Subhas Anand highlighted the importance of the year of faith. He said that the door of faith is open to all and the faith is a life long journey. He explained the Trinitarian aspect of faith saying that mystery of Trinity is the mystery of God. He also said that how St. Paul is the model of our faith. He said that year of faith invites us to reflect on the Word of God, Vat II Documents, Sacraments and  Catechism of the Church. He also explained how important it is to enter into the dialogue with other faith.

Today the Church is passing through the crisis of Modernity and Consumerism. He challenged the religious to renew and focus themselves on the person of Christ amidst multi-cultural society.

Most Rev. Devprasad Ganawa SVD, the Bishop of Udaipur invited the participants to discuss and share what are the obstacles and challenges in living the faith in their personal lives.

The Year of Faith 3The Religious were divided into five groups. They discussed and shared their lives with one another. The group representatives, Sr. Pushpa S.SP.S, Sr.Anita FSMA and Sr.Ranjana PSA said that witnessing values among priests and nuns are on decline. We are caught up with the work pressures and there is a lack of interest in the ministries. They also said that there is   a lack of time for prayer, there is lack of community sharing and prevalence of egoistic attitude among religious. There were about  hundred religious   who were present for this Spiritual Renewal Programme.  Fr. Andrew Lobu SVD proposed vote of thanks.
