Bible Convention , Ogna

DIVYA VANI, SVD Biblical Centre, Bhopal, Fr.Thomas Peringalloor SVD with the leadership of Fr. Norbert Herman SVD, District Superior of Udaipur organized a two days Bible Convention for the laity at St. Theresa Church, Ogna, Rajasthan. Fr. Abianus Tigga SVD, the parish priest welcomed the Biblical Coordinator of the Province, other resource persons and the faithful with a bouquet of flowers in his welcome address.

The Bible Convention was inaugurated on March 16, 2019 Saturday at 10.30 am with the Bible Procession and the lighting of the lamp. The Bible was enthroned in front of the altar and the Word of God was read out and the significance of the Bible in Christian life was explained to the faithful by the resource persons. During the talk, Fr. Thomas Peringalloor SVD explained the people about the creation of God from the Book of Genesis and St. John’s Gospel Chapter 1 that How God incarnated Himself in the form of the Word for the love of humanity.

 

Appreciating the role of mother as found in New Testament he beautifully explained that Mary our Mother teaches in the dialogue to glorify God- be sensitive to the needy and ask questions to own son/daughter in the time of need why did you do this?

Fr. Sanjay Kujur SVD explained the importance of bringing peace, joy, and love by setting the examples of four types of family as found in the New Testament in his talk as well as homily. Through the skillful singing of Fr. Norbert Herman SVD explained the parable of  the Bible. The in-depth personal God experience shared by Fr. Pascal Tirkey SVD, Fr. Florence Minz SVD, Fr. Amit Tete SVD and Fr. Dileep Bhuria SVD strengthened the faith of the people. The faithful were very positive about this convention and encouraged the missionaries to conduct more often.

The collaboration of Fr. Abianus Tigga SVD, Fr. Amit Tete SVD, Frt. Vijay Jadala SVD, SRA Sisters Community, Ogna and Fr. Sanjay Kujur SVD, the convener marked the success of the programme. There were nearly 220 laity from Ogna, Jhadol, Madri and Diya Ambasa excluding nine SVD priests, 3 SVD Brothers, 4 SRA Sisters and a PSA Sister. Fr. Sanjay Kujur SVD was the master of ceremony besides being a resource person. Fr. Norbert Herman SVD proposed the vote of thanks. The convention ended at 1.30 pm with lunch.
