Sarva Dharma Peace Rally 2013

Udaipur, 18 Decem­ber 2013 ‚Sarvd­harm Maitri Sangh, orga­nized Inter — Reli­gious Peace Rally to mark Christ­mas on 18 Decem­ber at 4.00 pm to 7.00 pm. Fr. Nor­bert Her­man SVD the direc­tor of Sarvd­harm Maitri Sangh wel­comed all dis­tin­guished guests and peo­ple from var­i­ous reli­gions and institutions.

The peace rally was flagged off from Maitri Sadan, Patel Cir­cle by the chief guest hon­or­able Mayor Rajani Dangi. Speak­ing on the occa­sion Mayor acknowl­edged that every indi­vid­ual in the soci­ety wants to expe­ri­ence peace irre­spec­tive of reli­gion, sect or caste. She empha­sized the need for global har­mony as the need of the hour.

Start­ing from Sar­vad­harm Maitri Sadan, Patel Cir­cle, the rally took the main routs of the city, Udai Pole, Suraj Pole, Bank Chouraha, Delhi Gate, Hathi Pole, Chetak, Lok Kala Man­dal and finally cul­mi­nated in Our Lady of Fatima Cathe­dral, Bhu­palpura.

The peace rally was well received by the fol­low­ers of dif­fer­ent reli­gion with their heads. Mahant Ras­bi­hari Sha­ranashas­tri, Sthal Mandir from Hindu Com­mu­nity, Mr. Rajku­mar Fak­ta­vat from Jain Com­mu­nity, Deven­dra Pahuwa from Sikh Com­mu­nity, Anis Bohra from Bohra Com­mu­nity, Fr. Remi­son from CNI Church and Rev. Bishop Devprasad Ganava SVD and bishop Joseph Pathalil addressed the rally. The main theme of their mes­sage was to spread peace and har­mony among all.

The main attrac­tions of the rally were the stu­dents dressed as Bharat­mata and Santa Clause dis­trib­ut­ing sweets, Live Crib with Rajasthani shep­herds and angels, Christ­mas tree, Vande mataram by “ruh band” and peace song by St. Teresa School, Push­pa­giri, plac­ards of peace from St. Mary school Titardi, Mes­sages of dif­fer­ent reli­gions, peace prayer of St. Fran­cis of Assisi etc. which attracted the peo­ple. Mr. Mush­taq Chan­chal and Abha Sir­sikar anchored the pro­gram and Sandeep Sing­hat­wa­dia, pres­i­dent of Sar­vad­harm Maitri Sangh pro­posed the vote of thanks. There were 25 jhankies and about three thou­sand peo­ple march­ing in the rally.
